The band signed with Arista in the early 90’s and embarked on one of the most successful careers in country music. The band has sold over 10 million albums earning three platinum and five gold records and won the Country Music Association’s Vocal Group of the Year award four times as well as netting two Academy of Country Music Awards in the top Vocal Group of the Year category and thirteen GRAMMY ® nominations. When they debuted in 1991 with the hit “Meet in the Middle,” Diamond Rio became the first group in the history of country music to have a debut single reach No. 1. They continued to place 32 more singles on the Billboard chart, including “How Your Love Makes Me Feel,” “Norma Jean Riley,” “Beautiful Mess,” “Love a Little Stronger,” and “One More Day.” The band are long-time supporters and National Spokespersons for Big Brothers Big Sisters and have raised over 1.5 million dollars for the charity to date through annual events including golf tournaments and Team Rio, a marathon and half group.
With Opening Act: Raquel Cole
Named CCMA Discovery Artist, Cole, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, has spent most of this year in the studio finishing up her forthcoming EP to be released this May. As much as she loves the studio, she prefers the open road and has fronted shows for Carrie Underwood, Josh Turner, The Band Perry, Scotty McCreery, Brothers Osborne, Diamond Rio and more. The CBC featured her in their 25 Musicians Under 25 you need to know, and she’s received shout-outs for her songwriting talents in American Songwriter Magazine, USA Today, and took 2nd place in the Unsigned Only category for her song “Imogene” in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition, beating out thousands of fellow songwriters across the world. Her song, “It’s For Real This Time” received airplay on Sirius XM’s The Highway. Cole, like many artists, started honing her musical craft at a very early age. When she was nine, her dad surprised her with her first guitar and it ignited her musical passion. A make-shift band room in the basement of her childhood home was the perfect setting to hone her skills. “My dad is a drummer,” shares Cole. “When I was younger, he wanted someone to jam with, so he bought me my first guitar, introduced me to his favorite bands and we started jamming in the basement. I was hooked, and soon after, I had a strict rehearsal schedule that my dad made me stick with.” Growing up, Cole was attracted to a wide-range of music and considers BTO, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayer, Keith Urban and Shania Twain as some of her earliest influences. Cole has had songs recorded by Marie Osmond and The Railers. Raquel is managed by Modern Management and is signed to WME for booking representation.
